UPDATE: The $100 million winning numbers you need to know.

The record books beckon for Thursday’s $100 million Powerball draw, should a single winner take out the whole dizzying first prize.

The record of the biggest individual lottery win in Australia currently belongs to a humble Sydney nurse who, in 2019, banked $107 million playing Powerball.

An individual win in January 18’s draw number 1444 would rocket that lucky player into second place.

So, what do you do with so much cash?

The lucky Sydney nurse, a mum in her 40s, has revealed she honoured a pledge to continue showing up to work — despite many people thinking she would quit her job.

How long you’ll have to wait to receive your $100m if you win Powerball tonight

“I don’t know why people were so shocked!” she said in 2021.

“I’m still working and my husband is also still working. We both love our jobs.”

The lucky winner said she had splashed out on a “lovely house” that would be “a family home for generations to come”.

“That’s something that I’ve always dreamt of and every time I walk into my beautiful home is a pinch-me moment,” she said.

She’s also able to indulge in the things she loves but previously had to hold back on, including books, fresh flowers and “a nicer bottle of wine”.

“Having the ability to travel with the children is incredible,” she said.

“We never thought we’d be able to afford to do that, it was always out of reach for us so to have those memories is priceless.”

But she continues to visit the supermarket herself for the family’s weekly grocery shop and is happy to clean her family abode — but has outsourced one pesky job.

“I’ve never been one for ironing, I do now have someone who does the ironing for me and that’s been invaluable,” she said.

“I’ll clean and cook but I’m more than happy to never pick up an iron ever again.”

The Sydney local said she’d also been able to give back to the community.

“Paying it forward is really important to us because if you change one person’s life, you have the potential to change the whole community,” she said.

“We have already made some really important donations and we’re always thinking a lot about what we want to support next.”

Powerball draw 1444

Thursday’s draw is the eighth time Powerball has jackpotted to $100 million in the game’s 28-year history and the first time in almost six months.

About 50 per cent of adults are predicted to try their luck and purchase an entry in the equal-fifth largest jackpot in Australian history.

The most frequently drawn winning numbers from the main barrel are 2, 3, 7, 9, 11, 17 and the numbers drawn least are 1, 15, 26, 31, 33 and 34.

Two and 19 are the most commonly drawn Powerball numbers while 14 and 16 rarely come through.
