Four Melburnians have been treated to an early Christmas present after their syndicate won $15 million in Thursday night’s Powerball draw.
The group from Berwick held one of two division one winning entries in Powerball draw 1439, with each lucky member taking home $3.7 million each.
One of the lucky syndicate winners told Lotto officials the money was “life-changing” and that she was going to use it to buy her own home and help out her children.

“Oh, my heart is going a thousand miles an hour,” she told officials when they delivered the news on Friday morning.
“Oh my god, I don’t believe it.”

Shares for the winning syndicate were sold at Berwick Springs Lotto and News.
Owner Bernard Aulia said he was speechless when he learnt his store has told the winning syndicate entry.
“We’ve been on quite the winning streak this year. We’ve sold nine division one winning tickets since 2015 and three of these have been this year alone,” he told Lotto officials.
“What a thrill and a great Christmas surprise.”
The second Powerball division one winning entry was held by a player in NSW.
The winning numbers in Thursday’s Powerball draw were 2, 6, 22, 4, 30, 18 and 8.
The Powerball number was 2.
