In an unlikely response to the birthday present of a lifetime, a woman from WA’s south-west has been left feeling stressed.
The woman in her 80s was gifted a Saturday Lotto Slikpik 12 by a friend for her birthday, with randomly selected numbers.
Incredibly for the octogenarian, the ticket resulted in a $1.6 million jackpot win.

But the windfall has left her with a sense of worry, which she has attributed to her age.
“I’ve been so stressed about the win, I said to myself, ‘God don’t let me die yet, I want to share this with my family and friends’,” she told Lotterywest on Friday.
With more than 80 birthdays behind her, the WA woman confirmed the latest was the greatest in terms of gifts.

“It’s topped all my other birthday presents, that’s for sure,” she said.
The elderly woman was one of two WA Division One winners who won $1.6 million in Saturday’s draw.
Her Slikpik 12 ticket was purchased from NewsXpress Bunbury Forum, and the other winner’s ticket was bought from West Busselton News & Post.
There were four other interstate winners smiling after the national draw, bringing the combined winnings of the event on Saturday to $10 million.
Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said Western Australia has now had a total of 78 jackpot winners in 2023.
“Let’s see if we can build on that total before the festive season,” he said.
